TM Movie News: Blade Runner 2, The Huntsman & Alien!

Happy TUESDAY, my lovely Muties! Alien, Blade Runner 2, Top Gun 2, and more this week! IT’S MOVIE NEWS TIME!  

Alien: Covenant:
​

• The Prometheus sequel got another new title this week! 20th Century Fox tweeted the new official title, Alien: Covenant, as well as the release date and title banner! The tweet was specific in stating that this is a new installment in the Alien franchise, with no mention of Prometheus. The only reason we know that it’s the sequel to that one, is that Ridley Scott is directing it. Neil Blomkamp (Chappie) is still attached to Alien 5. Alien: Covenant will be in theaters on October 6, 2017!​​

Blade Runner 2:
                                              

• Ryan Gosling is in! The dreamiest man on the planet confirmed that he will indeed be in the upcoming Blade Runner sequel in an interview with Collider. He couldn’t say anything else about it because the studio would probably kill him for it, but confirmation is nice! There’s nothing wrong with adding talent, and Gosling is a great actor. Drive in space! Or the future! …Or something. (I should really watch the original).

​The Flash:

• A Justice League film is on the horizon, and the Flash is getting his own movie too! Actor Ezra Miller (The Perks of Being a Wallflower) has been attached to the film as the Scarlet Speedster himself, and spoke a lot about what to expect from his performance in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly:
• “Well, [first] it’s going to be a movie. I’d like for it to be an exploration of a human being, a multi-dimensional human being, to speak. Wow, I just made such a pun, without meaning to! I’d like the character to have many dimensions. But really, I’d like him to have the usual dimensions we know and love, and then some extra ones that are part of the amazing consideration of this superhero. I hope to realize him as a person, and I think what’s most exciting for me in superhero mythologies is when we feel the humanity of someone who is heroic — or the heroism of someone who is a flawed, deeply human person.” 
• I’d like to point out that it’s been my opinion for years that Barry Allen has always had the personality of dry toast, so literally any character development in any form can only enhance excitement for this movie for me. Bring on Ezra Miller’s Flash!

Top Gun 2:

• Batman just announced Top Gun 2! Out of nowhere, actor Val Kilmer (Batman Forever) took to Facebook to announce that not only is Top Gun 2 officially happening, but he, Tom Cruise, and Jerry Bruckheimer will all be returning. Cruise continues to be on fire with his film roles, so there’s no doubt that this one will be a must-see. Check out the post below:

• Snow White and the Huntsman is getting a sequel, minus Snow White! Why? I don’t know! But it has an awesome cast! LOOK AT IT!
