TM Movie News: Trailer Overload!

- by Steve Garcia, 20 April 2015

Happy Monday, my lovely Muties! Aquaman! Chewbacca! Ryan Gosling! Spider-Man! EVERY TRAILER EVER FOR EVERY SINGLE NERD MOVIE EVER. You know what time it is, ladies and gents: IT’S MOVIE NEWS TIME!

Picture

Aquaman:

  • UNITE THE SEVEN! With Wonder Woman and The Flash getting their directors in Patty Jenkins and Phil Lord and Chris Miller (respectively), the King of Atlantis is up next! According to The Hollywood Reporter, James Wan (Furious 7) is Warner Brothers’ go-to name to bring Aquaman to life in his very own movie following his appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.  He has neither confirmed nor denied. While he may be an excellent choice to helm the project, it is believed that after Furious 7’s record-breaking box office smash, Universal will be heading forward with an eighth installment with Wan’s name at the top of the list. Wan is also prepping up for The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist, which might conflict with WB’s superhero schedule. A busy man, that Wan! Aquaman is slated for July 27, 2018.

Blade Runner Sequel:

  • Ryan Gosling might be starring in the Blade Runner sequel. If this is true, the dreamiest man on the planet will be co-starring Harrison Ford as he will be reprising his role as Rick Deckard, a cop that chases machines called replicants.  Principle photography begins next summer!

Spider-Man:

  • Spidey’s going back to high school! In a recent interview with Collider, the main man at Marvel Studios has confirmed that Peter Parker will indeed be a teenager in high school for his upcoming reboot in 2017. Hear it for yourself!

Star Wars: Rogue One:

  • A trailer is out for the upcoming Star Wars mystery spinoff! Unfortunately there isn’t a single good version on the web at the moment, but here’s a neat description of it courtesy of Collider:
  • “The teaser opens with narration by Obi Wan from A New Hope describing the time of the Jedi before The Empire as the camera swoops over a heavily forested landscape. The camera then pans up to reveal the massive Death Star looming overhead before cutting to the title, with “Rogue One” in big letters, preceded by a smaller “Star Wars” on top. The final thing we hear is garbled comm audio of people screaming.”
  • It appears that the rumors were true about the film’s plot being about a bunch of bounty hunters attempting to steal the plans for the Death Star! Star Wars: Rogue One will be directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla). Starring Felicity Jones, this film is slated for December, 2016. Check out the concept art below!

Wonder Woman:

  • Trouble in Paradise Island? While Warner Bros. has officially hired Patty Jenkins to helm the upcoming Wonder Woman film, it was only after “Game of Thrones” director Michelle MacLaren departed the project due to “creative differences.” A report from Variety claims that MacLaren’s vision was “an epic origin tale in the vein of Braveheart,” while WB was shooting for a “more character-driven story that was less heavy on action.” Preposterous! How can WB not want Amazonian Braveheart?!  Wonder Woman is slated for June 23, 2017, but you can see her first in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice on March 25, 2016.

X-Men: Apocalypse:

  • The X-Men has found their Psylocke! Olivia Munn (Magic Mike) will officially be playing the psychic ninja badass in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse. What’s even better is that the costume might already be finalized and everything! Check out her post on Instagram below:

If the latex fits...

And there you have it, my lovely Muties! What did you think of the latest Fantastic Four trailer? Got any opinions on Star Wars: Rogue One? Is a teenage Spider-Man the way to go for another reboot? Lastly, tell me… Do you bleed?! Let us know! As always, have an excellent week ahead and be good to one another!
