- by Ninja Ross, 19 June, 2020

Welcome to Trash Mutant's News Dump! Where we dump upon you this week's hardest hitting news from the garbage pile that is our beloved pop culture!

Movies & TV

Timelines to Merge, Warn Experts
While you might think that different timelines is nothing more than a theory, it has been revealed that there will no longer be multiple timelines in the future. Speaking to The Wrap, Witcher showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich confirmed that there will in fact soon be only one timeline.

Hellraiser Due 2021
The Hellraiser rights could revert back to it’s creator, Clive Barker, next year. This is just as long as he can win a legal battle, in which he’s attempting to reclaim the rights to his original novel, The Hellbound Heart. Once that’s done, all he needs to do is solve the puzzle box and then Covid-19 and racism will be the least of our worries.

New animated Candyman Prequel
Nia DaCosta has released an animated prequel to her upcoming reboot of Candyman. I haven’t seen it yet, as I don’t like candy, but I highly encourage showing it to your children to lift their spirits a little during these dark days.

CANDYMAN, at the intersection of white violence and black pain, is about unwilling martyrs. The people they were, the symbols we turn them into, the monsters we are told they must have been. pic.twitter.com/MEwwr8umdI

Comic Books

Image Orders Books to be Destroyed
Image comics has been instructing retailers to destroy copies of the fourth collected volume of Gideon Falls, by Jeff Lemire and artist Andrea Sorrentino. The last chapter in the fourth volume has been printed with no lettering, meaning that they’ve escaped. It’s widely known that if you destroy an evil letter’s original book, it can’t hurt you.

Science

New Threat Discovered in Every Home
Scientists are now warning that we are at risk of viruses, including Covid-19, within our homes. When flushing the toilet, it can send these viruses shooting up into the air. The fact that it’s only roughly a three foot range means that toilets have either not perfected their weaponry, or they’re aiming specifically for children.

Hummingbirds Disturbed, Science Suggests
An experiment carried out on wild Hummingbirds, by Princeton University evolutionary biologist Mary Stoddard and her team, has revealed that these birds are able to see nonspectral colours that we can’t even imagine. This leads to the possibility that birds are so jumpy and skittish due to seeing constant hellscapes within these colours, of which mankind can not even fathom. That would explain the far off stare all birds have.

Video Games

Mojang Studios to Stop Minecraft Support
Minecraft, originally created by Markus "Notch" Persson and released in 2009, is officially going dark. While the base game will still be available, Mojang Studios will no longer be updating. The changes will take effect as of June 23rd, when they release the Never update.

Witcher 3 Free on PC
If you own The Witcher 3 on any gaming platform (except the Switch), you can now get it free on the PC. Even if you have already have it via gog.com, the website hosting the event, you can still get a code to gift it to a friend. We’re still awaiting details on what the difference is between a free Witcher 3 on your PC and a caged one.

Pokemon Snap Making a Comeback
The classic N64 game Pokemon photography game is coming to the Switch, although details such as release date have not been confirmed. While it’s assumed the classic photography gameplay will be standard, no comments have been made by Nintendo regarding whether this will be a gritty reboot where you snap Pokemon bones and take pictures as they die in pain and misery.

That concludes this week's News Dump. If you have any thoughts, go ahead and dump it down in the comments!
