Amazon’s Lord of the Rings Show Looking for “Funny Looking” People
The New Zealand talent agency BGT, who have a history of supplying the Lord of the Rings movies with talent and extras, are looking for people who have unusual features such as “ears that stick out, bulbous or interesting noses, small eyes, big eyes,” and “any deformities”. while it hasn’t been confirmed that this is for the Lord of the Rings series, I think your mom would make an excellent disfigured orc.
 
Gone With the Wind Returns to HBO Max
HBO has restored Gone with the Wind, along with an introductory video featuring TCM host and film scholar Jaqueline Stewart discussing the context of slavery in the movie. Another video, entitled The Complicated Legacy of Gone With the Wind, has been added as an optional extra, delving deeper into the issues at hand. However, there is still no video discussing the potential fart jokes you can make about the title while watching it.
 
First Images for New Studio Ghibli Movie Released
Studio Ghibli has released the first images for the upcoming movie “Aya and the Witch”, the studio’s first fully CG production. While it’s new for Studio Ghibli to be working with CGI like this, it’s even stranger that they’re releasing the movie image by image, rather than as a motion picture.

Image Comics Rush Adventureman Back to Print
The first issue of Image’s Adventureman, created and written by Matt Fraction, with art by Terry and Rachel Dodson, has proven so successful that it’s been rushed back to print to meet demands. Reviewers are calling it “brilliant”, making it the most successful comic ever about a man bitten by a radioactive adventure.
 
Diamond Launches Auction to Help Save Comic and Video Game Stores
Diamond Comics Distributor has teamed up with Alliance Game Distributors for an auction to raise money for struggling comic book and video game stores,
starting July 4th to July 18th. Creators, publishers and others in the industry will be donayting items for auction, but word yet on whether the diamonds themselves will be sold.

Space Bat God Responds to DCEU News
Bat Shadow, also known as “young star HBC 672”, has always been still. However, the hubble telescope has observed the wings flapping. While no official word has been received from our gracious space bat shadow lord, Scientists believe the flapping is in excitement to the reports of Michael Keaton being in talks for a role in the DC Extended Universe.
 
Job Shortage Imminent, Experts Warn
Due to the fragility of today’s world economy and the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic thrown in, jobs are already difficult to come by. But in a study published this week, scientists have delivered the terrifying news that the rare foraging technique known as “shelling” is being  learned by more and more dolphins. As dolphins are well known for working for cans of tuna, leading experts worry that this will cause chaos in the job market.

Sony Announce New “Bug Hunting” Initiative
Sony are offering $50,000 to eagle eyed gamers and tech experts who can locate bugs within the Playstation Network. While gamers may be relieved to see creepy crawlies removed from their consoles, there is no word yet on whether compensation will be offered to repay damages caused by stamping on equipment and furniture. We are also awaiting confirmation to see if spiders count.
 
Nintendo Responds to fans Purchasing Wrong Pokemon DLC
Fans have been purchasing the wrong DLC pass for Pokemon Sword and Shield. Nintendo had originally said there would be no refunds, but they have been pointing fans to Ninentdo Support when contacted. When emailed, Nintendo Support reply with helpful links to online early stage reading courses, followed by supportive phrases like “we believe in you” and “you can do it!”
