SSN: NASA Looking To Create Second EarthThis is SSN: Scientific Science News. After a nail biting, seven minute battle to bring it to the surface safely, NASA have successfully landed the InSight probe on Mars.
InSight (short for Interior Exploration using Seismic Investigations) will relay information revealing new data on what exactly is going on underneath the surface of the red planet. For example, Deputy project scientist Suzanne Smrekar says "we really don't know if the core of Mars is liquid or solid, and how big that core is. InSight will give us this information." The information gathered by the probe will tell us more about how planets are formed. While scientists know plenty about how earth works and how it was formed, that’s only one data point. By studying Mars, scientists can learn even more about the way other planets work. And how they were made. It’s not yet clear why NASA is looking to build a brand new planet, but there are many possibilities. Some experts have cited the difficulty in finding places around the house to store things. Since cupboards, boxes, attics, etc have the as yet unexplained ability to become more full just as you’re trying to put stuff away, it’s thought that maybe NASA is trying to create a whole new world of empty storage areas. Another explanation is that NASA is struggling for funds and they’re trying to break into the vacation market. A whole world full of beaches, located close to the sun, would bring in a lot of profits from tourists looking to do nothing except bake in the hot sun until their skin is too burnt to lie down any longer. But whatever the reason, NASA have yet to put forward any proposals and haven’t applied for permissions to build anything that might obstruct people’s view. But that hasn’t stopped earthlings being wary of the plans. One British farmer stated “First wind farms and now this? Blinking ‘eck, will our suffering never end?” NASA will also be measuring the seismic activity of Mars, as well as if the core is liquid or solid. One out there theory is that NASA are actually looking for a planet that can be used to mass produce milkshakes and martini’s, which could potentially make them a huge amount of money, allowing them to fund further drink related research. While NASA have kept quiet about their plans for now, we can expect an update soon. Stay tuned to Trash Mutant for further developments. Source: https://mars.nasa.gov/insight/ |
