TM Movie News: Ms. Marvel, Mr. Batfleck, Robocop & more.

Trash Muties, have I got some stories for you! Slow news week, but I got you some Ms. Marvel, Will Smith, and Optimism Prime, oh my! Movie News Time!

Independence Day 2:

• A few months ago, I may or may not have reported that Will Smith will not be involved withthe Independence Day sequel. Well, it looks like he might just be involved after all, as he will reportedly be attending a meeting where “anything can happen.” Good news for the fans, bad news for the alien invaders!
  

Man of Steel 2:

• As the Batfleck controversy continues, Josh Brolin recently came out of nowhere and revealed that he almost had the part. “I didn't have conversations about it,” said the actor, “But Zack, that was part of his idea. It just didn't turn out. It's OK. It is OK. You know, another scenario might have worked better, but I'm happy for Ben." When asked about the internet haters, Brolin added, "I've never seen such a global reaction in my life, I feel for him, truly. I would not want to be him right now. The reaction becomes so personal. It's like, 'F*ck this guy, I wish he was dead.' And you're like, 'What? Dude, seriously? This guy is just working like you are. He's doing the same thing you are. He's trying to make the best choices he can... I want him to kick ass and I want everyone to love it and kind of eat their words." What a classy dude! And if I may add my two cents, Ben must have done something spectacular at the audition if he beat out Mr. Brolin. I’m extremely confident that Ben will be great, but… c’mon. It’s Brolin, ya know?
  

In other Batman news, it appears that the search has begun for the Dark Knight’s love interest. Apparently they want someone in their late twenties, any ethnicity, and physically tall enough to stand next to the giant that is Batfleck. He’s 6’4,” don’tcha know! Also, Superman will be in this movie, too; I have to keep reminding myself about that.

Ms. Marvel:

• Marvel Studios turned a C-list superhero into a household name in Iron Man, gave us the superhero team-up film to end all team-ups in The Avengers, and it appears that they will soon add “first full-fledged female superhero film” to their resume! With Vin Diesel being cast as Groot in Guradians of the Galaxy, new reports have been flying in that his Riddick co-star, Katee  Sackhoff, has been approached to play Ms. Marvel in what might be her own standalone film. While still in the earliest stages of presumed negotiation, I certainly wouldn’t mind this cast: she’s a great actress, she’s beautiful, and she can seriously kick some butt when the situation calls for it. Now we can all just sit and wait for WB to announce that Wonder Woman movie…
  

STUFF YOU SHOULD LOOK AT:


Gravity:

• A really intense, and horrifying, first trailer for Gravity is on the web! LOOK AT IT!
  

Robocop:

• An equally horrifying trailer is up for Robocop as well! (Although horrifying for totally other reasons… LOOK AT IT, I GUESS!)
  

Transformers: Age of Extinction:

• A new poster for the Transformers sequel is out, along with its official title! Trans4mers would have been better… Also, Dinobots confirmed, whatever that means… LOOK AT IT!
